The Zingui 1 connects to any Windows 7/8/10 computer using Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC). For Windows 8/10, additional actions are necessary to complete the WMDC installation.
Follow the steps below to install WMDC on your system.
New installation:
- First install WMDC on your computer. Depending on your system, download either the 32-bit version here, or the 64-bit version here. Click on the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Additional step for Windows 8/10: download .NET framework 3.5 here and install it.
- Additional step for Windows 10: download the Windows 10 patch here. Right-click on it, choose to “Run as administrator” and follow the on-screen instructions. This patch only takes a few seconds to install.
- Reboot your computer and connect your Zingui 1.
Troubleshooting an existing installation:
Some Windows 10 updates might break the WMDC installation. In that case, you might need to reinstall the WMDC software. The additional steps don’t need to be repeated.
- Uninstall all WMDC related packages from your computer. These packages might include the default WMDC installation and the “WMDC update” installation. Both packages can be removed from Control Panel > Programs and Features.
- Reboot your computer.
- Reinstall WMDC. Depending on your system, download either the 32-bit version here, or the 64-bit version here. Click on the installer and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Reboot your computer and connect your Zingui 1.
